Adapting Food Crops to Climate Change - Associate Professor Colette Heald

    Description

    How can we increase global food production if air pollution is reducing our crop yields?

    This is the question that MIT’s Colette Heald attempts to answer in this video. She explains the role that air pollution has in crop damage and estimates that global crop yields will reduce 9-15% by 2015, whilst food demand is rising. 

    According to Colette, in order to tackle the problem, we may need to change to crops we grow locally based on the air quality in each region.
