Critics blast a proposal to curb climate change by halting population growth

A new editorial declaring a "climate emergency," signed by thousands of scientists, is receiving criticism as a result of its remedial suggestion to halt population growth. In this article, James Temple, MIT Technology Review's senior editor for energy, discusses critics' issues with the editorial's proposal, largely centered around the fact that it targets developing nations as they are the main source of population growth.
